About IGCSE Board.

IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education)

It is also commonly known as Cambridge International and it is also known as world Curriculum.

It is an old Curriculum and was established in 1958 in Indian Schools.

With over 8 Million Students across the globe and in 160+ countries and 10000 Schools.

Cambridge is the largest board in the world as it works in 160 countries.

It is a very fast growing board in India over 500 schools are given this board in India.

 

What is Cambridge?

It is formally known as CAIE (Cambridge Assessment International Education).

 

Objective: The Objective of Cambridge is to produce Global Citizens.

The Curriculum focuses a lot on Problem Solving Skills.

Cambridge has over 4 Structure.

1. Cambridge Primary. (AGE 5 to 11)

2. Cambridge Lower Secondary. (AGE 11 to 14)

3. Cambridge Senior Secondary. (AGE 14 TO 16)

4. AS & A Levels.

Cambridge Primary: Student can choose subjects out of 10 Subjects

Assessment: - There are 2 Checkpoints or Assessment when it comes to Primary.

1. School Assessment.

2. Cambridge Does evaluate and brings a very comprehensive report.

Cambridge Lower Secondary.

All the above mentioned 10 subjects are applicable here as well however Tremendous amount of focus in ENGLISH MATHS SCIENCE.

Assessment (2 Check Point).

1:- Cambridge Level

2:- School Level

Cambridge Higher Secondary Level IGCSE.

International General Certificate for secondary Education.

It is a part of Cambridge and it is only 2 year program.

It start in class 9th and ends in class 10th.

There is 70 subjects to choose from of which 30 are languages.

There is 5 Groups.

Humanities and Social Science.

Science.

Mathematics.

Creative, Technical and Vocational.

The students can choose 5 subjects and up to 14 Subjects.

The Exam happens twice a year, one in the month of June and another in the month of November.

After Completion of 2 years of this program the student gets awarded with IGCSE Certificate which is same as 10th class CBSE Certificate.

 

AS & A Level

It is similar to Grade 11th and 12th.

It prepares you for University study.

As per the latest report there is a rise of 21% for AS & A levels.

It develops a deep understanding of subjects and make you prepare for Higher Education.
