About IB Board.

IB:  International Baccalaureate Curriculum (IB) is getting popular day by day in India. This board schools are available in all major cities in India.
IB Board is Developed in Geneva. It is a very challenging program and the syllabus is balanced. It focus the all round development of the student.

It has 3 core subjects and 6 group of subjects.

3 Structures/ Core.

Primary Years Program

Middle  Years Program

Diploma Program

The student has to choose 1 subject from the 1 group.
Group 1 :- Language and Leterature (English)
Group 2 :- Language Acquisition (Spanish, German, French)
Group 3 :- Individuals and Societies (Economics, Geopgraphy, History)
Group 4 :- Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Physics)
Group 5 :- Mathematics (Mathematics, Mathematics Studies )
Group 6 :- The Arts (Music, Theatre Arts, Visual Arts)
The Student has to choose 1 subject each from the 6 groups.
In which the student has to study HL (High level) in three subjects and SL (Standard Level) in three subjects.

HL (Higher Level) subjects normally require more studying time (240 hrs).
SL (Standard Level) subjects require total (150 hrs) of a studying time.
Three Core Component of IB Board.
Creativity Action, Service CAS.
Theory of knowledge.
Extended essay.

Grading
Grading depends upon the Assesments (Internal Assesment and External Assesment.
Internal Assesment conculde by the school teacher and it has a weightage of 20 to 50 percent of the grading.
Extenral Assesment is checked by others (Out side the School). It may possible that External Assesment can check by other teachers of different other countries as well (External IB Examiners).
The total of Internal and External Assesment is the Total Marks a student scored in his final examination.
7 marks is the higest  in each subject.
3 marks is the highest in core subject.

In order to pass IB Board student has to score minimum 24 points out of 45 .

45 is the highest point.
